Putin says Russia needs more ambitious development goals

MOSCOW, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- Russia's national development goals have to become more ambitious, and clear targets must be set in the plans until 2036, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

"Next year the current national projects formed in 2018 will finish. This means that we have to adjust the national development goals, extend planning until 2036, set the targets, define the key development parameters that meet our increased capacities and higher demands by the society," Putin said.

Putin said that while the country is to reach a historical poverty low in 2023, the Russian economy must become an economy of qualified professionals with high salaries, Putin said.

Positive dynamics of investment must be cemented, national demand for a wide range of goods must be satisfied, the president said.

The president urged the government and the central bank to pay special attention to the development of mechanisms of project and shareholder financing in the years to come.
